DCT, Incorporated (DCT) reports Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions using the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard published by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and the World Resources Institute.
DCT is a corporation which provides operations and maintenance services to the Federal government and others on a contract basis. Greenhouse Gas Emissions produced by refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and other such equipment at these facilities are owned and reported by the Federal government or other customers. All are in the United States. DCT limits its reporting to equipment owned by DCT and to costs for which DCT is responsible for payment.
DCT’s GHG Inventory is derived from the Environmental Protection Agency’s schedule of “Emission Factors for Greenhouse Gas Inventories” at Emission Factors for Greenhouse Gas Inventories (epa.gov)
Typically, greenhouse gas emissions are reported in units of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e). Gases are converted to CO2e by multiplying by their global warming potential (GWP). The emission factors listed in this document have been converted to CO2e. To do so, the emissions were multiplied by the corresponding 100-Year GWP (25 for CH 4 and 298 for N 2 O).
Inventory for the period 10-01-2022 to 09-30-2023
600.01 tons CO2 Equivalent Total
123.72 tons CO2 which is the same for CO2 Equivalent
5.00 tons CH4 , 125.02 tons CH4 in CO2 Equivalent
1.05 tons N2O, 313.73 tons N2O in CO2 Equivalent
DCT produces no Hydrofluorocarbons (HFC’s), Perfluorocarbons (PFC’s) or Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6).
61.93 tons CO2 Equivalent Total
10.09 tons CO2 which is the same for CO2 Equivalent
0.74 tons CH4, 18.38 tons CH4 in CO2 Equivalent
.11 tons N2O, 32.63 tons N2O in CO2 Equivalent
Goals for Reductions
Scope 1: DCT replaces vehicles cyclically and each new generation has lower greenhouse emissions.
Scope 2: DCT strives to replace all light bulbs, appliances, etc. with lower energy use products.
Due to the indirect nature of these factors, quantitative goals are not considered significant or reasonably estimable.
There have been no conditions (such as mergers or acquisitions, outsourcing, insourcing, changes in reporting boundaries or calculation methodologies, etc.) to date which would trigger a recalculation of the base year.
